Imagine starting a career surrounded by some of the best people in your niche. That is hard to do for most people around the world and a complete dream for everybody. Well, Anthony Davis can brag about starting his professional career by playing with a lot of NBA legends in 2012. AD went to play with some of the biggest names in the game even before stepping foot on an NBA court. Mad respect.
Back in 2012, a tall and skinny player who was expected to become something great in the NBA was invited to the 2012 Olympic Games by USA Basketball. He would make the Team USA that went to London to face the best national teams in the world. AD was part of that team and he had the chance to share touches with a lot of great players. Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and more.
AD had been selected by the New Orleans Hornets a month before going to London. He learned a lot from that experience and lived what every kid of his age would have dreamed to live.
“LeBron told me this experience was going to show me what being an elite pro athlete looks like and where should I set the bar,” Davis said about LeBron’s advice during that tournament.
Anthony Davis‘ 2012 Olympics experience at 19-years-old was priceless 💯🏅

In the end, Team USA won the gold by beating Spain in the Final. AD didn’t play that much but he surely learned from all these players. He is now leading the Lakers with LeBron, trying to win his first NBA ring this campaign. It’s pretty likely that he’s applying every advice he received -and remembers- during this playoff run.
