Despite being considered the dominant opponent, the L.A. Lakers haven’t been having an easy time handling their current Western Conference Finals opponent.

After two victories (one of which was miraculously won at the buzzer), the Lakers entered Game 3 hoping to take a 3-0 lead. Instead, they walk away holding the L, as Denver dominated most of the night, escaping with the 114-106 win.

On Twitter, the jokes and memes were flying high, as they usually do when the Lakers lose.

After a string of awesome performances, Anthony Davis came back down to earn a bit tonight, putting up 27 points and just 2 rebounds. LeBron James, though, racked up a triple-double with 30 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds on 60.9% shooting.

The biggest problem for L.A. though was on the defensive end. Jamal Murray, Jerami Grant, and Nikola Jokic each had over 20 points on at least 58% shooting. As a team, Denver shot 54% on the night.

Regardless of what happens moving forward, the Nuggets are clearly a team that needs to be taken seriously in the West. And, as much as folks like to clown the Lakers, they’re going to have their hands full battling this team.
