It’s not a secret that LeBron James takes better care of his body than arguably any other athlete ever. He’s spent millions of dollars on his physical and mental health and that’s definitely paid off, as he’s been able to dominate the league for almost two decades now.
LeBron James is the most durable player to ever live. Yes, I know that Vince Carter holds the record for most seasons played in the NBA and that A.C. Green holds the record for most consecutive regular-season appearances with 1,192. I also know that John Stockton missed just 22 games over his 19-year career, but I double down on my take.
How’s that? Well, while Carter, Green, and Stockton all performed at a high level for most of their career, LeBron James has been in the NBA for 17 seasons and has been at the top or near the top of the MVP voting in almost every single year.
As a matter of fact, if we took only NBA 2K as our measure, it would be even clearer that LeBron James has had the longest prime in NBA history, as he’s been the highest-rated player since 2k11 and has never had a rating below 94.
But, more impressively, LeBron James currently has a rating of 98 for NBA 2K21, the very same rating he had for the NBA 2K7 edition.
I mean, how could a player have the very same rating – which is just 2-points shy of a perfect rating – fourteen years later?
LeBron James has made it to the NBA Finals 9 times in the past 10 years. People still continue to wait for his decline but it seems like they’ll have to wait a little longer.
James has shown no signs of slowing down whatsoever and even though Father Time will always be undefeated, The King is surely putting up a hell of a fight.
