Stephen Curry keeps making history even though this time he’s done outside the basketball court. The Golden State Warriors launched his own shoe brand, becoming the third player in NBA history to have his own brand alongside Michael Jordan and Dwyane Wade. Curry has been terrific for Under Armour and they pulled the trigger on this move, making history with the 3x NBA champion.

Being part of one of the most exclusive clubs in the NBA alongside two of the best players in NBA history. Talking with Sports Illustrated, Curry revealed what it feels like to be part of that list with Jordan.

“It’s kind of wild, bro, to be honest. It’s very surreal.”

“I know a lot of people like to link it with Jordan Brand in terms of having a legacy brand attached to the company, and he is the GOAT standard of success when it comes to doing that, but we are going to do it a different way and something that is authentic to me.”

He added, “And again we are trying to plant our flag and just live out the purpose we are setting out to do with everything that we do and that for when it comes to product, when it comes to marketing, when it comes to our community give-back and our initiatives, all those things will be true to who I am and true to anybody that wants to participate and change the game for good.”

Steph is ready to continue increasing his legacy in the NBA and this launching has put him on a different level now. He was part of Nike until 2013 but they didn’t seem to be very interested in the player, who blossomed into the best shooter of all time with the Golden State Warriors.

Curry’s partnership with Under Armour has worked very well for both parties and now the player has raised the bar for the rest of the league. Not even 5 players have their shoe brand, but Curry is one of the three can say otherwise.
