Zach LaVine is a former NBA Dunk Contest champion, who has since developed into much more than just a dunker. Zach LaVine has always had an elite scoring game, but this season with the Chicago Bulls, LaVine is putting it all together. He has gotten his first All-Star selection, and his priority this season seems to be winning. It is great to see such a lethal scorer get his recognition.
Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson recently asked Zach LaVine whether he wanted to participate in the Dunk Contest this season. LaVine stated that he isn’t interested in the Dunk Contest, but may participate in another event during the All-Star break this season.
Zach LaVine on participating in Slam Dunk Contest: “We’ve got a lot of games left. I don’t want to lose my legs.
“I’m a little bit past that now, man.

It makes sense that Zach LaVine would want to pace himself throughout the season. Zach LaVine has a real chance to take the Chicago Bulls to the playoffs, and he obviously doesn’t want to wear himself out before he gets there. Zach LaVine is shooting 43.4% from the 3PT range, meaning that he would be a solid inclusion in the 3PT contest as well.
Zach LaVine is a player of many talents, and he could probably compete in any event during the All-Star break. It is good to see him prioritize winning as well, and the prospect of him in the 3PT contest seems like it’d be amazing.
