When Draymond Green Froze During His Post Game Interview In The NBA Finals

The 2016 NBA season was one for the ages. It was Kobe Bryant’s final season, the Golden State Warriors broke the record for the most regular-season wins and overcame a 3-1 deficit in the Western Conference Finals, and LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to one of the most epic titles in major sports history.

But among that, there’s another memory that often stands out among fans. Not because of its greatness, not because it was an epic highlight, and not because of its repercussions.

Instead, fans often remember and joke about the time when Draymond Green completely froze in the middle of an interview after Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

Green was on the podium with Festus Ezeli, answering questions a per usual. He was even joking and smiling and then, all of a sudden, it was like someone pulled the plug on him or his joystick ran out of battery.

The former Defensive Player of the Year simply stood there, eyes in the horizon, mouth open, without a single thought going through his mind, or so it seemed.

Needless to say, fans have had a lot to say about this epic and hilarious image ever since. Five years go by and some of them continue to joke about it. Here, we gathered some of the funniest comments:

Even so, that may not exactly be what Green remembers the most about that NBA Finals series. Instead, it could be the fact that he had to miss a game due to a suspension, which led the door open for the Cavs’ epic comeback.

The Cavaliers became the first team to ever come back from a 3-1 deficit in NBA Finals history, spoiling the Warriors’ incredible 73-9 season and eventually leading to Kevin Durant’s arrival. Maybe, Green was just vaticinating the future and he couldn’t tell us all yet.
