Dennis Schroder On Rajon Rondo Pushing The Basketball Into His Forehead: “I Love Competitors But That’s Not Competing. I’m Going To Leave It At That… That’s Not Basketball.”

Dennis Schroder and Rajon Rondo starred in a very controversial moment during the Los Angeles Lakers-Atlanta Hawks that saw LeBron James going down with a high right ankle injury. Although that stole all the attention, Schroder and Rondo also were under the spotlight when the 2x NBA champion pushed the ball into Dennis’ forehead.

Of course, that didn’t sit well with the German player and after the game was over, he called out Rondo for his actions. He loves a competitor but that wasn’t anything he had seen or done before.

“I love competitors but that’s not competing. … I’m going to leave it at that … That’s not basketball,” Schroder said after the game.

It was a very rough day for the Lakers, who lost LeBron James and lost the game 99-94, which meant their first loss of the second half of the season. Now they have plenty of questions to answer without Anthony Davis and LeBron James. Schroder has become one of the most important players on the roster and one imagines he would need to step up, as well as Kyle Kuzma and another veteran to try to help the team while their two biggest stars are sidelined.

Dennis is trying to re-sign with the team and he’s shown his desire to remain with the team. Perhaps this is the best opportunity for him to demonstrate he is the third-best player on the Lakers this season.
