Tyler Herro Reportedly ‘Snapped’ At His Dad For Criticizing Jimmy Butler

Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler have become very good friends during their first year together in Miami. The young rookie and the veteran swingman have meshed very well both on and off the court and you can tell that seeing how far they’ve taken their team this season. Even though they are on the verge of losing the 2020 NBA Finals, the Heat has to feel proud of all the things they did and the unity they showed throughout the entire campaign.

That unity reportedly started to grow when Herro’s dad was voicing his concerns about Butler and the 20-year-old didn’t like those comments. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Tyler’s dad, Chris, wasn’t very pleased knowing that his son was with Butler in Chicago in July 2019. In case you don’t know, Butler wasn’t the favorite player around the NBA at that time and it was normal to see a father worrying about his sons and who he hangs out with.

“As a parent, you hear stories about Jimmy and you just want to make sure he’s OK,” Tyler’s father recalled about that night in July 2019. “He snapped back at me, ‘Dad, you gotta stop texting me. Jimmy is a good dude.’”

The last three years were a rollercoaster for Butler, playing with the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers before getting traded to the Heat, where he’s apparently found his place in the world.

He has bonded with Herro and their duo is set to take the Heat to compete in the East for many years to come. They are willing to go through fire for each other and that has definitely impacted the results we’re watching now.
