Clearly, Bronny James is not going to get any kind of preferential treatment on the Lakers just because of his father. And I’m sure both he and LeBron would have it no other way. LeBron would want nothing more than for his son to get the quintessential NBA experience, and part of that is paying your dues as a rookie.
James could be seen laughing along on the bench. He didn’t object to Davis making his son get up and give up his seat. LeBron understands that doing that to Bronny is nothing more than some light rookie hazing and not some kind of targeted bullying of a young teammate.
Bronny James got the chance to play for the Lakers last night, playing three minutes against the Portland Trail Blazers. He had 0 points (0-2 FG), 0 assists, 0 rebounds, 0 steals, and one block. Given the brief amount of time he spent on the court, his registering a block is impressive.
James Doing Well In The G-League
James has been spending most of the time with the Lakers’ G-League team over the last few months. He has been doing better with the team in recent weeks, with his most recent outing with the San Diego Clippers impressing all fans. He put up 16 points (6-15 FG), four rebounds, two assists, and one block in 22 minutes.
However, with the Los Angeles Lakers main team, he hasn’t fared nearly as well. Bronny has played 19 minutes across seven games this season and averaged 0.6 points, 0.3 assists, 0.1 rebounds, 0.1 steals, and 0.1 blocks per game while shooting 12.5% from the field, 0.0% from the three-point line, and 100.0% from the free-throw line.
His cumulative stats don’t paint a better picture either, as in the 19 minutes he has played across seven games, he has put up just four points, two assists, one rebound, one assist, one steal, and one block, while shooting 1-8 from the field, 0-4 from the three-point line, and 2-2 from the free-throw line.
