While a lot of the sports world is celebrating their relationship, Richard Jefferson doesn’t seem to be a big fan. Speaking on his ‘Road Trippin’ podcast, Jefferson took a bit of a shot at Swift.

“This is where you don’t buy into the hype. There is a long line to date Taylor Swift and it moves fast. She has lots of albums and has made a lot of money going through relationships,” Richard Jefferson said.

“Do I give a f**k that it’s Travis Kelce’s turn? Not at all. And that’s not disrespectful. I am not talking about her s*x life. I don’t care about who Kim Kardashian is dating. I don’t care about who Taylor Swift is dating.”

(starts at 4:30 minutes)

Taylor Swift has a very public and well-known dating history, including other famous musicians like Joe Jonas and John Mayer, as well as massive actors like Tom Hiddleston and Jake Gyllenhaal.

She is currently arguably the biggest artist on the planet, and as such, the scrutiny around her relationships has gotten even greater. But despite what Jefferson had to say, most sports fans seem to be happy for her and Travis Kelce.

A Brief Look At Taylor Swift’s Dating History And Songs She’s Written About Her Exes

The narrative that Richard Jefferson addressed here, which is that Taylor Swift has made a lot of money writing songs about failed relationships is a prevalent one.

There is some evidence to back it up, though. One of the best examples is her song ‘Lover,’ which was rumored to be about her ex, Joe Alwyn. It topped the Hot Digital Songs chart on its debut, sold 35,000 copies in the first week, and spent 22 weeks on Billboard’s Top 100 charts.

There are more examples of this ilk, one of her most popular songs, ‘Style’ is reportedly about her relationship with One Direction superstar Harry Styles. And the single ‘All Too Well’ is rumored to be about Jake Gyllenhaal.

It’s a sad narrative for Richard Jefferson to promote, considering that Taylor Swift has dealt with dating in the public eye since she was a teenager. A lot of her relationships were also with significantly older men, for example, John Mayer was 32 and she was 19 when they were together.

Taylor Swift will likely not address any of these shots, she doesn’t have to. With a reported net worth of $600 million, she doesn’t have to care about what Jefferson thinks either.

Mark Cuban Made A Joking Appeal To Taylor Swift To Date Mavericks Players

Taylor Swift is among the most popular people on the planet at this point. Her Eras tour is set to be the highest-grossing tour by any artist in history, raking in billions of dollars.

Travis Kelce and the NFL are already benefitting commercially from this relationship, his jersey sales went up by a reported 400% after Sunday. So it’s no surprise that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wants her to date a Mavericks player instead.

This isn’t the last sports fans will hear on this topic, so even if they don’t care like Richard Jefferson, it might be time to strap in for the ride.
