Dwyane Wade And Gabrielle Union First Met At A Super Bowl Party
The two first met during a Super Bowl Party in 2007 where they were asked to co-host, and according to People, it wasn’t love at first sight.
In her own words, Union explained how she came across Wade. “I stayed on one side of the room with my people,” Union recalled.
“We like to party and he doesn’t drink at all. He was on the other side of the room holding bible study.”
In 2014, she added how she decided to give her relationship with Wade a chance. “When I met Dwyane, his résumé looked like crap: athlete, going through a divorce, nine years younger than me. None of that screamed, ‘Let’s have a lasting relationship.'”
And now, she is a stepmother to Wade’s two children with Funches, and his son Xavier. Wade is also the guardian of his nephew Dahveon Morris. Add Kaavia James to the mix, and that’s one happy and prosperous family.
It’s wholesome to see the love between these two grow strong. Every relationship goes through a grueling test of time, and it’s good to see Wade and Union weather the storm and now bask in the sunshine.
