NBA Fans Can’t Believe It After Trae Young Says He Plans To Win 4 Championships With New Head Coach Quin Snyder

Winning isn’t easy in the NBA, but according to Hawks star Trae Young, he’s on track to victory. This past season, amid a highly disappointing run, the Hawks made the bold choice to fire their head coach in the middle of the season. To replace him, they brought in Quin Snyder, who is widely considered to be one of the best basketball minds in the business.

It’s believable to think the Hawks will be better in the Snyder era, but Trae took things a step too far when he suggested the Hawks were about to go on a Warriors-like run with 3-4 titles.

“Getting past the first round is hard,” said Young. “So, winning a championship is at a whole other level. So it’s not easy when people say you don’t have to go through anything. Confrontation with your coaches and players, sometimes stuff like that is good and it’s what’s needed to get better and push forward. Hopefully Quin for me is my Steve Kerr. I hope Quin is the guy that we win 3, 4 championships with. That’s my plan.”

Of course, nobody can really blame Trae for this line of thinking. In the NBA, anything can happen and the best players must maintain their confidence if they hope to build upon their success. Plus, at just 24 years old, Trae still has loads of time to bring a Larry O’Brien trophy to Atlanta.

Even so, fans aren’t nearly as convinced and any of them were struck with disbelief over Young’s ambitious goals.

I love Trae but there is no way they come even close to that

After losing John Collins this summer, some fans are arguing the Hawks actually got worse this offseason.

To date, the farthest that Young has made it is the Eastern Conference Finals, but even that run was unexpected by pretty much everyone. Heading into this season, the roster hasn’t changed too much and it seems like the Hawks are really banking on Snyder to be the guy that changes their trajectory.

Is Trae A Coach Killer?

While Young has been very optimistic about his partnership with Snyder in public, one has to wonder how this dynamic will play out given Young’s previous history with coaches.

Going back to Nate McMillan, Young had a major falling out with him that probably cost him his job. Young himself has denied the accusations, but there is still a sense that it’s risky business to coach Trae Young.

Hopefully, Quin will change that narrative and is able to bring the most out of his star point guard.
