After Warriors star Draymond Green stomped on the chest of Domantas Sabonis in Game 2, everybody expected an ejection from the game. What many didn’t expect was the NBA’s response, which came in the form of a one-game suspension for Draymond.

Citing the excessiveness of the situation and Draymond’s personal history of reckless acts, the league stands by its decision to keep Green out of the lineup for Game 3. The Warriors, however, are less than pleased with the ruling, with some sources claiming they are livid.

According to Draymond, Sabonis grabbed his leg as he was coming down and had little control over his actions as he was looking for a place to plant his foot. Clearly, the NBA isn’t buying that story, and they are intent on making a statement.

Now, the Dubs will have to find a way to survive without Green in a pivotal Game 3 that could determine the fate of the series.

Can Warriors Still Advance Past The Kings?

Defensively, the Warriors had no answers for De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, and it seems the issues that plagued them in the regular season continue to hold them back now.

The hope is that, in San Francisco, the Dubs can dominate at home and tie the series at 2-2 for Game 5. Even still, there are doubts that the Warriors could win a game in Sacramento, given how poorly they’ve played on the road all season long.

“Already a difficult team to play in Sacramento, the Kings’ home-crowd energy will be turned up to 17 in its first taste of postseason action in over a decade and a half,” said Colin Cowherd. “This would spell trouble for any team, but especially the Warriors, who inexplicably sputtered to the league’s fourth-worst road record this season at 11-30.”

We saw the Warriors go winless in the opening games in Sac-Town, and they will have to play perfectly at home to keep their season alive and give themselves a chance to take control of the series.

But unless the Warriors can somehow flip a switch and find another level to reach, a loss in this series may be inevitable, especially if Draymond Green isn’t there to help them avoid going down 0-3.
