As one of the most famous and successful athletes on the planet, it’s obvious to say that LeBron James has a lot of supporters. Over the years, however, Warriors star Draymond Green has really gone out of his way to shower the man with praise. Time after time, Dray is always talking about LeBron and defining him from the firestorm of criticism and hate he deals with daily.

This week, he even had a special message for those who give him flack for his treatment of James and compared the attempts to divide him and LeBron with slavery.

“I catch a lot of flak… for the way I ride for Bron,” said Dray. “Me being f—g happy for Bron, that doesn’t dim Steph’s light. I always tell people that’s your losing a— mentality… I always compare it to slavery where they wanna turn us against each other.”

Bringing up slavery may have been a step too far, but Dray certainly has a point. In today’s NBA, players are more inclined to appreciate and celebrate the competition rather than treat them as the enemy, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

In the case of Green, who is a 4x champion, supporting and defending another successful player is an admirable and understandable stance to take.

League Sources Call Out Draymond For Following LeBron “Like A Puppy Dog”

Dray didn’t call out anyone in particular, but it’s likely this is a direct response to an anonymous league source last month, who flamed the Warriors star for his constant support of LeBron.

“I mean, Draymond has been on LeBron’s (private regions) all year, so that tells you something about what he wanted to have happen. I’ve never seen anything like it… They like Draymond, LeBron wants Draymond, Draymond has been following LeBron around like a puppy dog these last couple of years,” they said.

What makes all of this even more interesting is the uncertainty surrounding Draymond’s future in Golden State. With the Warriors on the books for a ridiculous amount, Green may be the odd man out as the team looks to cut costs and re-tool around Curry and Wiggins.

In that case, what better situation would there be for Dray than to team up with his buddy LeBron in the city of Los Angeles?
