Losers of two straight games, the Boston Celtics find themselves at a disadvantage heading into Game 6 of the Finals. Tasked with avoiding another loss against a superior opponent, they will have to play almost perfectly from here on out if they want to win the series and take home the title.
Ahead of Game 6, with his team’s back against the wall, star swingman Jaylen Brown did not show any fear about what is to come. Instead, he stood his ground and declared confidence in his crew.
“We’re looking forward to the challenge,” Brown said. ” We got to embrace it. Ain’t no other way around it. Last game on our home floor to kind of embody our whole season. We’re looking to give it everything we got. We are not scared. We do not fear the Golden State Warriors. We want to come out and play the best version of basketball that we can.”
“We know it’s a good team over there. We know they’ve done it before. But we have all the belief in ourselves. We’re going to come out and leave it all out there. That’s the whole intent.”
The Boston Celtics do not fear the Warriors… but perhaps they should.
Over the past decade, no other team in the league has more experience than the Dubs, and they have more talent to work with now than they have since the Kevin Durant era.
If the Cs really want to come out of this alive, they will have to take it a game at a time. In Game 6, they will have to channel the energy from the crowd and use it to fuel their response to Game 5.
If it goes 7, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum will need to play the game of their lives to walk away victorious in San Francisco.
