Draymond Green Praises NBA Journalist For Showing The Full Picture About The Recent Controversial Kevin Durant Response: “I Was Asked About Kevin Durant And That’s Why I’d Mentioned Him. So, I Want To Say Thank You For Your Honesty.”
Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is someone who will never hold back when it comes to giving a befitting reply to anyone in the league. He has carefully constructed that reputation throughout his career in the NBA.
But sometimes, due to this very reputation, people tend to take advantage of what Green says in press conferences. The most recent example of it was when Green talked about the Warriors' offense being around Stephen Curry following the Game 2 win.
Green also mentioned that the team's offense ran through Curry even when Kevin Durant used to play for the Dubs. Now, at first sight, it might look like Dray is taking a shot at his former teammate KD and that's what everyone perceived in the media.
Well, almost everyone apart from Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. Azarly made sure to point out that Green was specifically asked the question around KD and that's what he even brought up Durant's name in his answer.
Azarly perfectly explained that in a detailed article that he wrote on ClutchPoints. It seems like Green gave that article a read and he ensured to thank Azarly during the press conference ahead of Game 3.
“I see your name and I saw last night, where you pointed out, or maybe two days ago, where you pointed out that there was a question I was asked about Kevin Durant and that’s why I’d mentioned him. So, I want to say thank you for your honesty.”
In an era when most reporters and journalists are busy messing up press conference quotes as they see fit, it's great to see someone like Azarly make things right.
Moreover, it's amazing that Draymond Green acknowledged that and praised the journalist. Hopefully, this interaction between the two will serve as a turning point in the relationship between players and the media. One can at least hope for that to become a reality.
