5 Amazing NBA Jerseys That Need To Be Brought Back

NBA team jerseys are changing all the time. It’s a great way of making money for the league while revamping team looks as well. Some designs have been making comebacks with teams wearing retro jerseys for select games, but there have been a few noticeable exceptions. Here are the five NBA jerseys that need to be brought back.

5. Orlando Magic Blue Pinstripe Jersey (1994-1998)

The Orlando Magic were gangsters during this time period, with a young duo of Shaq and Penny taking no prisoners in the NBA. It’s time for Orlando to bring that vibe back, and while they’re at it bring back their winning culture. Orlando has been a bottom-feeder since Dwight left, so the pinstripes can’t make them any worse, right?

4. Detroit Pistons Dark Horse (1996 – 2001)

There was something very 90’s about the demon horse that was the Pistons mascot heading into Y2K, and I think it’s time for a comeback. Detroit should feed into that dark jersey and make it their moniker, playing dirty and gritty like the pistons of old to try and claw their way back into playoff contention.

3. Golden State Warriors ‘Blue Warrior’ Jersey (1997-2010)

This may come to a shock to you, Warriors fans, but the team did exist before 2014. Maybe even harder to believe is that there was a time when the warriors were underdogs. In 2007, an incredibly exciting 8th seed Warriors team led by Baron Davis, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson and Manta Ellis upset the 1st seed Dallas Mavericks. It was as awesome as it sounds. The jersey’s they wore then matched with their mascot, a warrior holding a lightning bolt. It would add some fun to the otherwise very boring Golden State jersey.

2. Philadelphia Sixers Black Jersey (1997-2009)

Philadelphia wore the black jerseys when they had the most attitude in the NBA. Allen Iverson was at the height of his powers and Dikembe Mutombo was finger-wagging blocked shots into the fourth row. They exceeded expectations and made the NBA Finals as a number 1 seed with an inferior team in 2001. The current Sixers have all the talent in the world, but they need another gear to make the finals next year. Plus, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons in the all-black jerseys would be an intimidating sight.

1. Seattle SuperSonics (1995-2001)

Payton Kemp NBA

These jerseys were awesome. Shawn Kemp had 50-something kids and 500-and-something dunks wearing these. Gary Payton trash-talked his way to the hall of fame. Detlef Schrempf went along for the ride. You know what? If we’re bringing back these jerseys, we might as well bring back the whole team, right? How does the city where both Microsoft and Starbucks started not have a team
