After signing LeBron James to a 4-year deal, years of suffering and losing seasons are expected to end for the optimistic new-look Lakers.
Signing the best player in the world usually comes with heightened expectations, and that reality has been no stranger to L.A. this season.
Yet, even with LeBron, the team faces serious questions moving forward.
For one, LBJ is 33-years old and will be entering his 16th season in the NBA. Father time will likely catch up to him before his contract with the Lakers is up. Secondly, besides LeBron, the Lakers didn't really sign any secondary stars.
Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley, Rondo and some young guys just aren't enough to challenge the Warriors... not like that. For those reasons, and maybe more, The Ringer's Bill Simmons predicts that LeBron James will actually go ringless during his tenure in L.A.
