Giannis Antetokounmpo is living the dream right now. He's generationally wealthy and has won near almost every single individual accolade in the NBA before turning 27 years old. More than that, he's an NBA Champion.
But none of the things he's accomplished thus far have changed Giannis the slightest. On the contrary, he continues to be the same humble kid that made it to the NBA seven years ago.
That was in the full display right after he won the NBA Championship, as he was looking everywhere for a cigar just because he wanted to replicate what LeBron James did last season in the bubble.
"Yo, where's my cigar? I gotta do what LeBron did last year!" Giannis said in the locker room, as revealed by a hilarious leaked video.
That's one of many reasons why people continue to root for Giannis Antetokounmpo. He's just a down-to-earth kind of person. He's humble, he's relatable, and he never has an agenda.
It's not so usual to find a superstar with no ego. And Giannis Antetokounmpo is that. He came from the lowest of the lowest, selling stuff on the street, to sign the largest contract extension in NBA history.
More than that, he could've joined a superteam and win a ring 'the easy way'- assuming there's such a thing - but instead, he decided to fulfill his promise by staying and delivering a championship to the city of Milwaukee.
So, don't worry, Giannis. Even if you don't find your cigar, you'll have plenty of chances to do it in the future.
