Who would've thought a small cartoon artist from Thailand would be taking the NBA world by storm with his depiction of how NBA stars go to the bathroom?
Well, that's exactly what happened to Chuttapong Patrungsi -- also known as 6th Man --who works as a farmer in his home country, and creates sports cartoons in his spare time, mostly about the NBA.
Patrungsi's hit series "How NBA Players Pee" went viral on social media when he posted the first part to his Facebook and Instagram, showing the likes of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Lonzo Ball and Kyrie Irving using a urinal.
Patrungsi has released a further three editions of the cartoon, featuring new players every time, and we here at Fadeaway World spoke to him exclusively on how he came to be a designer, and what inspired him to create this specific cartoon.
"I used to work on TV Commercials and in Film, but due to family reasons, I had to head back to my homeland and become a farmer. That’s freed a lot of spare time for myself, and that's when I began the 6thman Facebook page.
6thman is a page where I draw about basketball, my most favourite sport. I try to mix basketball with humor.
I love to draw any athlete in a cartoon, big-head style to make them look funny.
About my "How NBA Players Pee" series, it came about when I was going to the bathroom and imagined what would happen if I swapped the urinal with a basketball hoop. So a lot of funny ideas came from that one thought, and there are more on the way."
Patrungsi has also featured NBA legends such as Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson in his other works, as well as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Dirk Nowitzki.
