When coming into the league as a rookie with a target on his back, it wasn't a surprise to see the Los Angeles Lakers' Lonzo Ball struggling with some of the rigors and physicality of the NBA. Ball's lack of strength was most noticeable throughout the season on his drives to the rim, taking contact often and being unable to finish layups because of it, evident by his woeful shooting percentages around the rim.
Just like a great player should though, Ball has identified one of the weaknesses in his game, and worked on it during the offseason.
According to Lonzo's teammate and fellow rookie Kyle Kuzma, Ball has been in the gym a lot more this offseason, apparently “taking the weight room a lot more seriously this summer," and it looks like Kuzma was telling the truth judging by Lonzo's latest Instagram post.
Compared to the beginning of last season, Lonzo Ball definitely looks to have put on a few extra pounds in the muscle department, which can only be good news for him and his shooting percentages.
Not only has Ball been working on his strength though, Lonzo has added to the tattoo on his right arm.
Could we be seeing a new-and-improved Lonzo on Opening Night next season, sleeve tattoo and all?
