The Toronto Raptors are officially the 2019 NBA Champions after defeating the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. However, the Raptors win have cost many punters who were backing the Warriors to take the series to an eventual Game 7, including famous American rapper, Meek Mill.
The Philadelphia rapper has reportedly lost $200,000 on the Warriors after their Game 6 loss to the Raptors. The evidence of the massive loss has appeared in a video with him and a friend where the friend says, “$200K down, he good. Easy, come on. Super easy.”
It was recently unknown how much Meek Mill was intending on spending on the series but it was clear that he was going to back the Warriors on the series either way. On the 30th of May, he tweeted, “I’m betting whatever on the series if any of y’all rich guys from Toronto believe in y’all team against the warriors!!!!!”
The man was clearly in the Warriors camp and even went to twitter later in the series to tell people just how much he wants Kevin Durant to return for the sake of his bet.
It all backfired on Thursday when the Raptors defeated the Warriors by just four points in a very close tussle. The Golden State Warriors couldn’t take a trick with yet another injury when Klay Thompson went down in the third quarter with an ACL injury. Thompson was in red hot form before the injury and it may be what put the final nail in the Warriors coffin.
For Meek Mill, he’s lucky that he has plenty of money to gamble with but we recommend he lowers the amount he’s spending on sporting games just to be on the safe side.
