It is difficult to know the metric used by game developers to give a rating to NBA players in NBA 2k. Regardless, the debate is unending as fans often argue about whose player rating is well-deserved and who needs an increment or reduction.
Playing 2k is nothing close to the real deal, but certain people believe they can hoop because of how much they understand the virtual game. One such person is famous NBA 2k player Ronnie Singh, popularly called Ronnie 2k.
In a sit-down with broadcaster Rachel Nichols, Ronnie 2k was asked what his rating would be on NBA 2k if he was rated by him and his friends as a basketball player. In his response, he felt confident he was deserving of an 80+ rating.
"I would be a low 80s. I got a little bit of a dunk. I can shoot a little bit."
Albeit being a joke, NBA fans have come for the 2k maestro, saying he deserves the worst rating possible based on his performance in the 2020 All-Star celebrity game.
"If he is low 80s, I gotta be 95"
"is a 10 literally possible? he’s a 10 OVR Ong"
"Bros reverse layup goes crazy"
"He’s a 40 with all 25 attributes because that’s the lowest you can be on 2k"
"If he’s low 80’s I’m my career player dropping 50 20 and 20 with 10 mvps 10 title 10 fmvp 10 dpoy and even 5 years of baseball bein mvp and winnin the World Series"
"Bruh if he’s low 80’s I’m 95+ and I’m not even 6 foot"
"brooo he making flight look good tbh
"Solid 25 overall"
"This why the rating system messed up"
"I'll be generous he would be 68"
"3.5/100 at best."
"I never seen a OVR 1 before Ronnie stop lyin to yourself"
"Keep in mind the lowest overalls possible are still in the nba which makes them 1000x better than you, with that being said Ronnie is like a 10ovr being generous"
Ronnie has so much work to do to get an 80 OVR rating in NBA 2k. As a gamer, perhaps he could even be ranked close to the 90s, but as a basketball player, there is no way he will get close to 80.
