NBA Legend Kevin Garnett Ordered To Pay $100k A Month In Child And Spousal Support

Retired Celtics legend Kevin Garnett is facing some trouble in court after a legal battle with his estranged wife Brandi Garnett went wrong. A recent court order demanded him to give out $100,000 a month to Brandi.

Yahoo Entertainment’s Daniel Goldblatt has provided the details of the court’s ruling which will have the former Celtics icon paying a fortune.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the former NBA star was ordered to pay Brandi Garnett $100,000 a month to cover both child and spousal support.

As The Blast first reported, Brandi was seeking 46,000 a month in child support, estimating that she will have the kids 95% of the time. She was also asking for another $146,000 in spousal support and then another $300,000 to cover her legal fees.

In the new ruling, Brandi got the $300,000 she was asking for (of which KG has already paid $75,000) and an additional $225,000.

Now retired from basketball, the money will hurt the NBA legend quite a lot financially considering that he isn’t playing in the league anymore. At the prime of his career, Garnett was earning up to $30 million dollars a season, an incredible amount at the time. Basketball Reference has estimated that his total career earnings are around $343 million, this isn’t including all the income that he would have earned from things outside of basketball such as endorsement deals.

That’s a lot of money that Kevin Garnett has earned over his career, leaving him very wealthy. However, the NBA champion is now officially retired and is bringing in that type of cash anymore which means 100,000 dollars a month is going to really take its toll over time.

Garnett is one of the game’s greatest past players, winning a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and winning the MVP award in 2004 as part of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
