5 Most Controversial NBA 2K19 Ratings So Far

NBA 2k has released many snippets of their new title coming out on September 11, with each screenshot showing players with their huge graphics update. They also display the rating of each player shown and has caused some controversy all over social media. 2k’s ratings have already been heavily criticised this year with a vast majority of people believe that many ratings a very unfair.

Kyle Kuzma - 80

Kyle Kuzma Was Very Angry After His Low NBA 2K Rating

Kyle Kuzma was drafted with The Lakers 27th pick in the first round. With Lonzo being the main attraction in LA, he was a steal for The Lakers in the later rounds. The 23-year-old forward earned himself an All NBA Rookie First Team averaging 16.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. But, an 80 overall for a top 5 rookie? It doesn’t make sense.

Kemba Walker - 86

NBA-2K19-Kemba-Walker

Kemba Walker had one of the best seasons of his career, earning himself an All-Star selection for the 2nd time. Walker averaged 22.1 points, 5.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game for The Hornets. An All-Star point guard is rated lower than three rookies coming into their 2nd season. This just defines how severely underrated Kemba Walker really is and his rating will definitely go up.

Anthony Davis - 94

Anthony Davis 2k

Anthony Davis is a machine. Coming into the 2018-19 season as one of the MVP candidate favorites, he is the complete Power Forward. At only 24 years old, he averaged 28.1 points, 11.1 points and 2.6 blocks per game. Davis carried The Pelicans to 48 wins and swept The Trailblazers in the first round of the playoffs. A top 5 player at the very least, his rating should be a 96. Take note, he is only 24 years-old.

DeMar DeRozan - 89

DeRozan 2k

DeMar DeRozan was the franchise superstar of Toronto before getting traded to San Antonio Spurs. But, that still doesn’t change his reputation as one of the best shooting guards in the league. DeRozan led The Raptors to a 59-23 record finishing 1st on the Eastern Conference. He put up 23.0 points, 5.2 assists and a steal per game. This man deserves a 90 plus rating for his excellent performance last season.

Russell Westbrook - 93

Westbrook 2k

Mr. Triple-double does it again this year as one of only two players to average a triple-double for the whole season. Being compared to NBA legend Oscar Robertson, he is an elite point guard. With 25.4 points, 10.3 assists and 10.1 rebounds averaged for the season is cemented in history. Last year's MVP still kept his historic streak running and a 93 is definitely too low.

2k has messed up their ratings this year with many players being way too low or way too high. Unless they are using a different rating system this year, it’s left many of us confused. 2k19 will be released on September 11th with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the official cover. I’m sure 2k will adjust the ratings as the 2018-19 season plays out and give a fair rating based on current performance.
