Here’s what we’ve all be waiting for! 2k sports leaked ratings of all starting five players of every team and all seem reasonably fair. However, some ratings definitely need to be changed and deserve a higher or lower rating than what they were given.
1. Jayson Tatum - 87
Jayson Tatum definitely has All-Star potential and will be a future star player for The Celtics. However, he isn’t close to this stage yet. 2k gave Simmons, Mitchell and Tatum all an 87 rating this year, which is understandable for Simmons and Mitchell, but Tatum just isn’t at that level. He had a stellar playoff performance, leading The Celtics with Horford to the Conference Finals. He averaged 18.5 points in the playoff series and knocked out Simmons and The Sixers.
2. Kyle Kuzma - 80
Kyle Kuzma was a late gem of the 2017 NBA draft with The Lakers drafting him with their 27th overall pick in the 1st round. The Lakers Power Forward earned himself an All NBA Rookie First Team averaging 16.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Producing almost similar stats to 87 overall rookie Jayson Tatum, it’s become clear that Kuzma is just not respected by 2k. We will likely see Kuzma’s rating shoot up in 2k19.
3. Dwight Howard - 81
Dwight Howard hasn’t performed at the same level since his Orlando Magic days, but he still remains a dominant center. Howard averaged 16.6 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. He had an insane game against the Brooklyn Nets, putting up 32 points and 30 rebounds. Howard is still capable of putting up historic numbers like this but is given an 81 rating. This rating needs a change.
4. Julius Randle - 80
These young Laker stars have been given very poor ratings in 2k19. Last season was Randle’s time to prove his worth at The Lakers, with rumors of being traded during the season. He stepped up, averaging 16.1 points and 8.0 rebounds in only 26.7 minutes per game, securing his spot on the roster. The Pelicans saw talent in Randle, signing him to a 2-year $18 million.
5. Clint Capela - 84
With a fantastic season last year, Clint Capela was recently signed to a five-year extension to stay with the Houston Rockets. The Rockets big man is still young and will be part of their future. The 23-year-old was producing at an All-Star level performance averaging 13.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game while leading the league in FG%.
Capela destroyed Rudy Gobert (87 overall) and Karl-Anthony Towns (91 overall) in the Playoffs and helped lead Houston to the Western Conference Finals. Capela has been getting better every year so we will only see his rating rise from 84.
NBA 2k19 has now released The Prelude for 2k fans to have a preview of the new MyCareer mode and gameplay.
