NBA 2K20 is finally here and we continue to break down who are the best players per position in the new installment of the successful franchise. We already saw the best point guards in the video game, but now it’s time to look at the other half of the backcourt.
We have a lot of good shooting guards around the league but we can only rank 10 of them on this list. Today, we’ll let you know who are the best shooting guards in this new NBA 2K edition, with some of the best names in the game leading the way.
10. Devin Booker - 86
Devin Booker opens this list with his 86 overall rating. This guy is a scoring machine and has proven that in each season he’s spent in the league with the Phoenix Suns. Last term he averaged 26.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. Booker is set to become one of the best players in his position in the future, and we can see how high the people of 2K rank him among the SGs in the league.
9. Victor Oladipo - 87
Even though he’s injured at this very moment, Victor Oladipo remains one of the best shooting guards in the association after all the good things he’s done with the Indiana Pacers over the last couple of seasons. Albeit he missed a big chunk of the 2019/20 season, Oladipo is still considered a big figure for this upcoming NBA season, earning an 87 overall rating in 2K20.
8. Luka Doncic - 87
One could argue that Doncic is a point guard, but this guy has shown his versatility on the floor with the Dallas Mavericks and during his time with Real Madrid. At least for 2K, Doncic is one of the best shooting guards in the game right now, having an 87 overall rating after a tremendous season with the Texans. The 2019 NBA Rookie of the Year is set to be even better this upcoming season, taking his game to the next level.
7. DeMar DeRozan - 87
DeMar DeRozan has been one of the most consistent players in the NBA for quite some time now, at least in the regular season, becoming one of the favorite shooting guards for all the fans around the league. His good performances with both the Raptors and Spurs have taken him to be on this list more than once, and NBA 2K20 won’t be the exception. Last season, his first with the Spurs, he averaged 21.2 points, 6 rebounds and 6.2 assists per outing.
6. C.J. McCollum - 87
C.J. McCollum has created a great partnership with Damian Lillard in one of the most exciting backcourts in the league at this very moment. McCollum is not the most famous player of all, but he does the job, and he does it a great way. This season he earned an 87 overall rating, ranking as the sixth best shooting guard in the video game. Last term he took his team alongside Dame Lillard to the WCF, and this year he expects to improve that performance and make it to the Finals.
5. Bradley Beal - 87
This guy is one of the most coveted assets in the league right now, being linked with a lot of teams, but staying put in the Washington Wizards. Bradley Beal is without any hesitation one of the best shooting guards in the NBA, and one guy that can make a great addition to any team in the association. Last season he had to take the reins of his team following John Wall’s injury, recording the best numbers of his career, with 25.6 points, 5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per match.
4. Jimmy Butler - 88
Just like Luka Doncic, Jimmy Butler can play in more than one position, but this time the people in charge of 2K have decided to put him as a shooting guard. The former Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers player is ready to be the go-to guy in Miami, trying to take the Heat to the playoffs once again. Butler averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4 assists per game last season, between the Timberwolves and the Sixers.
3. Donovan Mitchell - 88
Donovan Mitchell made a huge impact in the league as soon as he entered it, taking his Utah Jazz to have a terrific 2017/18 season, surprising everybody around the association. Last season Mitchell kept improving his level, which earned him an 88 overall rating in NBA 2K20 and the right to sit on the third spot of the best shooting guards in the league. This season he’ll try to make things even better and not only improve his game but his team’s.
2. Klay Thompson - 89
The first two positions of this list are kind of obvious for everybody. Here we have Klay Thompson, one of the best shooters of all time and one of the best players in his position in the NBA right now. Klay will miss a big part of the upcoming season, but that doesn’t mean he’s gotten any worse. Thompson is ranked second on this list with an 89 overall rating, just one spot behind the best SG in the league. Last season he played 78 games with the Warriors, recording 21.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
1. James Harden - 96
It doesn’t get any hotter or better than this. James Harden is not only the best shooting guard in the league right now, but one of the best players in the NBA in general. The Beard has enjoyed some good times with the Houston Rockets, taking the team to transcend in the playoffs, but has failed to take the last step to get into the Finals.
The 2018 NBA MVP received a 96 overall rating for NBA 2K20, becoming the best shooting guard in the video game, and one of the best players in the new installment. Harden has been impressive with the Rockets, and next season won’t be any different for him.
