Jay Williams Says Stephen Curry Is Now Focused On Winning An NBA Championship After Breaking The Three-Point Record

What's next for Stephen Curry? After breaking Ray Allen's three-point record, something he had been hoping to do his entire career, there is a thought about what Curry wants to achieve next. Given his historic accomplishments, it's not an easy question to answer. But former NBA player Jay Williams believes Steph has eyes set on an NBA championship.

Jay Williams spoke about Stephen Curry breaking the three-point record against the Knicks, and what might be next. Williams thinks that Curry wants to prove the doubters wrong, and show that he can be a clutch player, make big shots, and help the Warriors win another NBA championship while being the key player for them (3rd slide).

“I am willing to move the ball down the field for Steph because I know that once this is over, there is something about being the greatest shooter. And now I think the next step for Steph is in those big moments, in those clutch moment, this is not enough. He wants to be next level, he wants to be different. And this is his year. If Klay comes back, hopefully they do have him and James Wiseman, for these clutch moments, where all this talk about him not doing things in the clutch or ‘aww look at Steph shrinking in these moments’. This is his year to shut all those naysayers up. And just know that as much as he got this whole crazy thing that he got Reggie Miller, he got Ray Allen, his brain is moving on to winning a championship. And that’s what I respect about him for how he thinks and how he competes.”

One of the biggest criticisms of Steph Curry is his shot-making in clutch moments. Some people believe that while Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, he doesn't usually perform well in close, late-game situations. And for a player the caliber of Curry, that is not something he will be happy about.

Curry himself admitted that he can now feel comfortable calling himself the greatest shooter of all time. So perhaps this season is the best chance for him to be able to shut those critics up, by becoming a more clutch performer, and helping the Warriors win an NBA championship for the 4th time in his career.
