As the league has steadily grown in popularity since the 2000's, the rise of the amount of eyes on the NBA's on-court product can be directly compared to how fast the game is being played in today's day and age.

With more possessions per game, there's more chances for players to rack up insane stat lines every night, as evidenced by Russell Westbrook averaging a triple-double over two consecutive seasons. On top of that, two great offenses going at it is far more entertaining than a defensive-minded game where the final score is 76-70, like we used to get with the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers in the early 2000's.

Still, some teams haven't got the memo that playing up-tempo basketball is the way to go, which is why we're going to take a look at the 10 slowest teams in the NBA last season, ranked by their average pace.
