2019 NBA Free Agency: Kemba Walker Will Not Sign With The Knicks

The Knicks have some big aspirations this summer. They have cap space, they have tradeable assets, and they are entering a free agency period with no shortage of stars.

As good as their situation might be, however, there is at least one name they will have to cross off their potential signing list: Kemba Walker. In a report by SNY, the 29-year-old guard signing with the Knicks this summer "isn't a likely outcome."

Of course, only Walker -- and Walker alone -- knows what he wants to do this summer. And he probably won't have a strong idea about where he wants to sign until he meets with the Hornets or other suitors in a few weeks. But some opposing execs monitoring Charlotte's free agent situation believe, currently, that if Walker chose to sign somewhere outside of Charlotte, going to New York isn't a likely outcome for the point guard, per SNY sources.

And if that remains the case, the Knicks would have to look elsewhere to find a second star this summer.

At this stage of his career, winning has to be a priority for Kemba. With the Knicks, unless they land another big fish, it is unlikely he signs with them as they are currently constructed.

As far as other possible options for the 29-year-old point guard, the Lakers, Magic, and Bucks are expected to express interest. Charlotte remains his most likely destination.

We will continue to provide updates on Walker and everything relating to free agency as things get revealed.
