29 Years Apart: Michael Jordan And LeBron James Hit A Game-Winner And Scored 44 Points In Game 5 Of Eastern First Round Using The Same Number

Michael Jordan and LeBron James are always compared by fans and analysts who say this or that is the greatest player of all time but the truth is, they have a lot of things in common and every year we discover more details about them.

More recently, one NBA fan revealed that Jordan and James had a very similar game with almost the same protagonists, 29 years apart. NBA Basketball Content shared an interesting post where they say the No. 23 hit a game-winner and scored the exact same amount of points, 44, in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference playoffs with a series 2-2. To make things more interesting, the games happened in Cleveland.

Jordan did it in 1989, where he made "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo to eliminate the Cavaliers from the playoffs. LeBron did it in 2018 against the Indiana Pacers, giving their Cleveland Cavaliers the 3-2 lead in the series.

This happened 29 years apart and it’s incredibly curious. The Cavaliers were part of both games but they first were the victim and then the victimizer. The NBA is full of interesting stories and this one is really great.

LeBron and Jordan had a very similar season at 35 years old and Tyronn Lue recently explained the similarities between the pair, explaining they only care about winning and are willing to do anything to reach their goal. The GOAT debate won’t stop in the near future but the fact is that His Airness and the King have more things in common that people actually like to admit.
