5 Fastest NBA Ejections In The Last 15 Years

Two nights ago, Rudy Gobert was handed one of the fastest and dumbest ejections ever, as he piled up two quick fouls - one of them just a couple of seconds into the game - and then knocked down a water bottle, being ejected for his antics.

Therefore, Gobert was handed the fastest ejection the league has seen in the last 15 years, getting thrown out of the game after just 2 minutes and 47 seconds had gone by for slapping a water cup.

Over the course of history, we’ve seen some similar things, and today, we’re going to let you know about the 4 fastest ejections of the last 15 years, obviously excluding Rudy’s.

1. Dec. 6, 2018 - Rudy Gobert - 2:47

2. Feb. 1, 2017 - Jameer Nelson - 4:07

Jameer Nelson

Back in 2017, Jameer Nelson went scoreless and recorded two assists and 1 rebound before being ejected in the first quarter of a game against the Grizzlies, after he was supposed to start in place for an injured Emmanuel Mudiay.

Notably, Nelson was ejected in quite a bizarre fashion, as he was handed not one, but two technical fouls for arguing the very same foul call. Talking about the referees trying to make a point, huh?

3. Jan. 12, 2015 - Kevin Garnett - 4:07

Kevin Garnett made a living of being one of the toughest competitors and defenders in the history of the game, but obviously, that made him earn a couple of detractors along the way during his career.

So, after the Big Ticket got into an altercation with Dwight Howard while they were playing with Brooklyn and Houston, respectively, the big man was thrown out of the game for throwing the ball at Howard and then headbutting him, pointing at him and threatened him. He would’ve destroyed Howard, so he’s lucky the refs threw him out.

4. Nov. 12, 2007 - Larry Hughes - 4:18

Larry Hughes

Back in the day, Larry Hughes and Allen Iverson had a really entertaining rivalry, so every time they faced each other, Hughes pretty much lost it on an attempt to prove the world that he was just as good as The Answer.

So, Hughes was trying to lead the Cavaliers over Iverson’s Nuggets, but he started arguing with the referees in the first quarter of the game and was eventually thrown out. On a side note, Iverson scored 37 and led his team to a 122-100 triumph.

5. Nov. 27, 2010 - Stephen Jackson - 4:29

Stephen Jackson was also known for his hard-nosed temper so, more often than not, he showed a really big and harsh mouth or tried to get a piece of pretty much every player that stood in front of him.

For that kind of behavior, the referees ejected him just 4:29 minutes into the game, as the veteran thought he was fouled and got angry about the referees’ no-call. He was handed a couple of quick techs, while his Bobcats were up 9-6 against the Bucks.
