Andre Iguodala has been a name to come up frequently as the NBA trade season prepares to kick off. With the 2-way NBA veteran currently waiting things out in Memphis, the Grizzlies have made it their mission to find a trade partner for him.

But, in an updated report by ESPN' Adrian Wojnarowski, if Iguodala is going to get to the L.A. teams (Lakers or Clippers) it will be through a buyout, not trade.

With the Lakers and Clippers both under significant cap stress, they don't really have the means to trade for Iguodala. Other potential suitors (like the Rockets) have also had no luck trying to find a deal that works.

At this point, it seems like a waiting game is inevitable. Unless Memphis finds a deal for Iguodala before the deadline, they might have to just let him go.

As for who Iggy might choose in that scenario, we don't know where ie preference would lie when it comes to the L.A. teams. He'd likely have a bigger role with the Lakers, as they are much thinner at the wing than the Clips. But, by all accounts, the Doc Rivers-lead Clippers are a much more well-rounded team and are considered more likely to win the Chip this year.

Iguodala would be a valuable addition to both, with his veteran presence, playmaking abilities, and defensive dominance being priceless in today's game.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the weeks and months leading up to February's trade deadline.
