Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Cam Thomas had a reason behind why he never smiles and it was a hilarious one at that.

A tweet of a stone-faced Thomas along with the reason behind not smiling all the time went viral on Twitter leading to some slapstick fun replies from fans.

On his part, Thomas apparently believes that not everything was funny for him to flash a good smile.

“Ain’t S**t Funny”

As far as the season goes, it’s not just Thomas who won’t be smiling after the Nets lost to the Detroit Pistons. They were edged out 130-122 despite Kyrie Irving’s scintillating 40-point night coupled with 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.

The struggles continued to mount for Ben Simmons who after enduring a slump so far this season was ruled out of the game in the third quarter due to left knee soreness.

On his part, Thomas played for just two minutes with no numbers to show. Well, if he’s not smiling usually, he’s definitely not going to laugh about the loss and his game time.

NBA Fans React To Cam Thomas’ Logic Behind Him Not Smiling

While some fans saw the funny side of Thomas not smiling, some felt his logic was the one that would make a case for “Quote of the Year” while also adding that this would be the start of a memefest over the next few weeks.

Clearly, they did see the side of Thomas being honest about not smiling. Sometimes, things aren’t really funny and he decided to keep it very real.

On the season front, Thomas is averaging 6.6 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists for the Nets. His name has been doing the rounds in trade rumors as well with the deadline looming.

Per Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Nets are looking at making some upgrades and added that the likes of Thomas and Day’Ron Sharpe were candidates likely to be shipped. Only time will tell if he indeed finishes his season with Brooklyn.
