Anonymous Celtics Player Roasts Kyrie Irving: "He's Hard To Play With"

Kyrie Irving

The Boston Celtics are officially eliminated from the 2019 NBA playoffs after being defeated 4-1 by the Milwaukee Bucks.

The attention has now turned to star guard Kyrie Irving and whether he’ll still be apart of the Celtics team next season. Since the series loss to the Bucks, Irving has faced a lot of criticism about his performance on the court and his leadership abilities. Not only has the backlash come from supporters and the media, it’s also started to come from his teammates themselves.

An anonymous Celtics player went off speaking about Kyrie to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman. The player said “everyone respects his talent” but then went on to say “he’s hard to play with, it’s all about him,” which makes him a very hard player to play with.

Although some players are clearly frustrated with being on a side with Irving, there are Celtics players such as Marcus Smart who thinks Kyrie doesn’t deserve any of the blame for the disappointing end to the season for Boston.

"Bull----," Smart said according to Sports Illustrated. "That's bull----. Not one of us on this team knows what Kyrie's been through. Probably a small number of people in this world know what Kyrie goes through. It was hard for him as well. He was forced into a situation where it was business over the friendships, where he had to come into a situation knowing that, 'This is a group of guys that had something going before I came here. How will I fit in?' He didn't want to disrupt that. That says a lot."

It sure is a disappointing end to the Celtics 2019 campaign, they started off the post-season winning the first five matches before Giannis Antetokoumpo took over and the Bucks won the next four matches in a row to win the series.

Kyrie Irving’s future is still in doubt and we can only wait until the off-season to find out his final decision.
