Anthony Davis Believes He's The Best Player In The NBA Right Now

Anthony Davis NBA 21412

Since his sophomore season for the New Orleans Pelicans back in 2013, Anthony Davis has been an absolute force on both sides of the basketball, living up to the hype as the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

In only six seasons, Davis has been named to five All-Star teams, three All-NBA teams, three All-Defensive teams, won the 2016-17 All-Star Game MVP award, and has led the league in blocks per game three times. Despite all this individual success however, the Pelicans have struggled to form a decent squad around Davis to compete for championships, through no fault of AD's.

Even when it looked like the Pelicans would have a good thing going with a full season of DeMarcus Cousins in NOLA, and Jrue Holiday playing at a borderline All-Star level, the Pelicans could only manage to reach the second round of the playoffs after the injury to Cousins sidelined him for the rest of the season.

Speaking at New Orleans' media day this past week, AD thinks that the Pelicans are going to be in for a stellar year this upcoming season, and backed this up by claiming he's the best player in the NBA.

I mean, you can't knock the man for his confidence, and Davis is definitely among the top 3-5 players in the NBA today at only 25 years old, but there is definitely a player or two (ahem, LeBron, Curry, KD) who could've done a lot more with the Pelicans than Davis has so far.
