Just months removed from his first Championship victory, Anthony Davis isn't ready to hand over the crown. This season, he and LeBron have picked up right where they left off, boasting a 14-6 record through the first 20 games of the season.

But Davis is not blind to the challenge that faces his team. In fact, in an interview with ESPN's Rachel Nichols, the Lakers star gave props to the Warriors for what they were able to accomplish in 2017 and 2018.

“Everybody wants to be a champion. That’s the toughest part,” Davis said in regards to the Warriors. “Now, as a champion, you come out this year and you really appreciate it … it was tough what they did. That’s very tough to come out and repeat.”

When a team brings home the Chip, it creates an instant target on their back that follows them through that entire next season.

The Warriors went through that after their title in 2017, and the Lakers are going through that now.

The question is, will the results be similar? With LeBron James and Anthony Davis still at the top of their game, anything is possible. But we'll have to see what they're able to do in the weeks and months to come.
