The Los Angeles Clippers had a marvelous offseason, landing a pair of superstars that are set to take the team to win it all next season. They had good years before this season when they were solid candidates in the West, but things have taken another dimension this time around.

The team’s front office made sure to bolster the squad this summer when they made a double-swoop for Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Now, the team that was already good in the 2019 playoffs and made life hard for the Golden State Warriors in the first round, has added two of the best players in the league to compete for everything next campaign.

The Clippers are considered the biggest favorites to win the Championship next season, alongside their neighbors, the Lakers.

This is a new chapter in the battle of Los Angeles, but for a former Clipper, Blake Griffin, the Lob City doesn't have a real chance to dethrone the Lakers as the kings of L.A. any time soon.

“It’s exciting for L.A. basketball with what the Lakers and Clippers did but the Lakers are such a force,” Griffin told Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times. “I said this when I played here but I don’t think you’re ever going to take that away from them but at least they’re trying to raise the competition and make a battle. It’ll be fun to watch.”

When you compare the history of these two squads, things are incredibly one-sided for the Purple and Gold, so it would be very hard to imagine Los Angeles becoming a Clippers town. While the Lakers have been a failure in the last six years, the Clippers have been playoffs animators, but they haven’t won a ring yet.

Still, the competition will be way better now, as these two teams are ready to go at it and claim the NBA title next season.
