BREAKING: Iman Shumpert arrested for suspicion of DUI outside Atlanta

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert was arrested in August, the team announced Friday.

Here's the team announcement regarding the situation:

Cavaliers guard Iman Shumpert was arrested by Fayette County (GA) Police outside Atlanta for suspicion of DUI following an August 10th traffic stop for a lane violation. The Cavaliers have discussed the situation with Iman and will monitor the progression of the pending case. A court date has not been set at this point, and neither Iman or the team will have any additional comments while the matter progresses through the legal process.

Not often do you see a team reveal an arrest before a news outlet does. Not many details are known about the arrest, and as the Cavs state, there is currently no court date listed for Shumpert in the Fayette County Clerk's online database.

The Cavaliers agreed on a four-year, $40 million deal with Shumpert this summer after the guard helped them win an NBA championship last season.
