ESPN released its top 25 for the 2023 high school hoop class with some big names and some surprises, as well. Arguably the most famous on the list, Bronny James, ranks 24th in the top, nearly making the cut for the top 25.
The list features D.J. Wagner at the No. 1 spot. Wagner, son of high school legend Dajuan Wagner and grandson of NBA & NCAA champion Milt Wagner, is seen as the best player of his class, followed by Jalen Lewis and one of the most famous names in basketball in recent days, Mikey Williams, to close the top 3.
At the No. 24 spot, we find Bronny James, LeBron James' son, who many believed was going to have a better position on this list. Bronny only surpasses Jared McCain in the ranking, but this is only the first look of the top 25. He just finished his freshman year at Sierra Canyon and there is no doubt that his future is very promising.
Bronny had some great performances this year, making more headlines than several NBA players for his plays. You can say being LeBron James' son helps him, but you can't deny he has the talent and the quality to be a great player.
It's not like he's worried about his ranking here, but Bronny still has three years to prove he's one of the best players in his class. 2023 looks far away now, but we'll see Bronny playing with his father on an NBA court in no time.
