Carmelo Anthony Has Earned More In 5 Days Than These Stars Will In A Season

When it comes to the worst contracts during the 2017-18 NBA season, the Thunder's Carmelo Anthony's contract will definitely be fighting for a number one spot.

Earning over $27 million last season during the second-last year of the massive five-year deal he signed with the New York Knicks in 2014, Melo's production on the court came nowhere close of matching the money he was earning.

The Thunder knew this after his disappointing season with them, and managed to trade him to the Atlanta Hawks for point guard Dennis Schroder in an effort to shred themselves of Melo's contract.

The Hawks decided to waive Anthony as soon as he was traded, paying out the entirety of his $27.9 contract over the course of five days.

It may come as a surprise to some, but Melo will be out-earning some of the game's best players during those five days compared to their whole seasons. Here are only a few of them.

Joel Embiid - $25.2 Million

Anthony Davis - $25.4 Million

Giannis Antetokounmpo - $24.1 Million

Kawhi Leonard - $20.1 Million

Kawhi Leonard Toronto Raptors

Kyrie Irving - $20.1 Million
