According to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, Carmelo Anthony's agent has spoken with at least four teams about the possibility of signing Carmelo Anthony to the team this season.

The top candidates include the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers, Trail Blazers, and Philadelphia 76ers.

According to Smith, however, Terry Stotts and the Blazers have their concerns about bringing on the 10x All-Star.

Right now from what I’m hearing, Terry Stotts has some reservations about Melo being in Portland. I don’t know if that’s finite or not, but he does have some reservations, along with others.”

Of course, rumblings about Melo's name and game have been circulating for weeks now -- and he has remained un-signed as a result. It is true, at least to some degree, that Anthony has struggled to adapt to a changing landscape and deteriorating game.

But even at 35-years-old, he has the stuff to give a team in need of an offensive spark. Last season, in less than 30 minutes, Melo averaged 13.4 points per game off the bench for Houston. With some improved efficiency and tweaked mentality, Melo can use his iso scoring ability to really become a threat to opposing defenses.

He'll have to find a team willing to take a chance on him before that happens.
