The Los Angeles Clippers are still working to make amends for last season's failure, and they're looking pretty solid so far.
With a 34-18 record in the West, and a roster even better than last year, the Clips look to be a team in the running for the title this season. Of course, it doesn't mean everyone is sold on their potential.
According to Charles Barkley, the Clips are just "pretenders," destined to get knocked out by the Lakers, Nuggets, or Jazz in the West playoffs.
No doubt, Chuck's words are a response to the 2020 postseason, in which Pual George and Kawhi Leonard led an embarrassing and epic collapse at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. They ended up losing in seven games after taking a 3-1 lead.
Can Paul George, as hot as he is now, be dependable in the playoffs? Is the supporting cast going to be able to step up where they didn't last time? Is Tyronn Lue the right man to take this franchise forward?
a lot of questions and doubt remain about L.A., and it's clear that there are people out there who just aren't buying into the idea of them being a legitimate threat.
We'll just have to wait and see how they perform when the moment arrives.
