Over the decades, the playing style in the NBA has changed beyond recognition. Due to the league adapting to shooting more three-pointers, most organizations want to add more and more long-distance scorers to their roster.

As a result, the floor is spread out pretty well, and at times, it provides players to score a huge number of points. We have seen many players take advantage of that and become elite scorers.

Keeping that in mind, many have wondered how Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan would have played if he was in today’s era. Jordan majorly played during the 1980s and the 1990s, and the game was pretty different back then.

As a result, a lot of fans think that MJ wouldn’t be able to adjust to today’s game and not be that effective. But at the same time, there are many who believe that Jordan would score an insane number of points on a nightly basis.

NBA Analyst Thinks Michael Jordan Would Be Unstoppable In Today’s Era

In recent years, the league has seen many European players rise to stardom. So much so that the last four NBA MVPs have been overseas players. Giannis Antetokounmpo recently admitted that playing in Europe is more difficult than playing in the NBA, according to him.

Keeping that in mind, NBA analyst Chris Broussard believes that if MJ played in today’s era, he could average 40 PPG.

(Starts at 5:15):

“When we say Michael Jordan could average 40 today, that’s not hyperbole. I mean it. I’m not saying he’d average 40 for his career, but he would have seasons where he averages 40 points a game.”

Mike had a lot of skills in his arsenal, and he was an elite scorer. During his prime, he used to destroy his opponents with that skill.

Moreover, he did so when the rules were different in the NBA. The defense was a lot tougher, and the three-point shot wasn’t commonly used. All things considered, MJ may have really averaged 40 PPG in the modern era.
