Christian Wood On Trade Rumors: "I’m Not Really A Fan Of It. I Don’t Want It Anymore."

Christian Wood

As a borderline All-Star on of the NBA's worst-performing teams, it's only natural that Christian Wood be the subject of trade rumors ahead of the deadline.

Teams like the Heat, Mavericks, and Warriors all have some level of interest in the 26-year-old big man, showing that he is highly valued by teams around the league.

As for Wood himself, however, he remains committed to the Rockets and has been quick to shoot down any notion of him leaving Houston.

“I try not to think about it,” he said. “I’ve been seeing it. We’re all human. I’ve gone on Bleacher Report or Hoopshype and see my name. I don’t really think too much about it.

“I’m committed to this organization, and I know they’re committed to me. I’ve given them everything. They’ve given me everything, too. I’m honored and blessed to be here. I’m really just waiting for this trade deadline to be over.”

“This is my first year being in trade rumors. I’m not really a fan of it. I don’t want it anymore. This is my home. This is where I want to be.”

After trading James Harden, the Rockets set to work remaking the roster. Despite the rise of Kevin Porter Jr. and Jalen Green, Wood remains one of the most important members of the team.

Through 49 games this season, he's averaging 17.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game on 48% shooting.

The Rockets are 15th in the West with a 15-37 record overall.
