CJ McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers is making headlines all over the place this offseason. First, he had the fiery exchange with Kevin Durant about how KD left OKC to go play with the Warriors and now he’s at it again.

CJ called Steph Curry a top 15 all-time player which has started a good discussion on the matter.

There’s no doubt Curry is a pure stud through and through. He’s easily the greatest shooter to have ever lived. He’s the only person to have hit 300 3s in a single regular season... he’s also the only person to hit 400 3s in a season as well and he shot 43.3% from 3 during those 2 seasons.

He has transformed the game to the point where all high-school and college prospects are heavily judged on whether they can hit the 3 or not. Curry has brought so much pace and excitement to the game with his ability to create his own shot with his amazing handles and lightning quick release.

Curry has won 2 MVPs, 3 NBA Finals and is also a scoring champion, but he’s never won a Finals MVP. When most people name their top 10/15 players of all time winning a Finals MVP is high up on their criteria. A Finals MVP shows you were the main reason why your team won it all which is a huge reason why it’s so important to win one for you to be an all-time great.

Curry is still only 30 and could play for another 7 years at least. He has another chance to add to his resumé this season and if I was him I’d make a mental note that Durant wasn’t going to be the one to accept the trophy from Bill Russell at the end of the season.
