It only took a season, but LeBron James has the Lakers in serious Championship contention. Averaging 25 points, 10.6 assists, and 7.9 rebounds this season, he has led L.A. to the top of the West standings -- but he hasn't exactly been alone.

With Anthony Davis in the backcourt and a slew of other experienced role-players filling out the rest of the roster, they are among the deepest and well-equipped teams in the league.

Still, FOX Sports analyst Colin Cowherd isn't convinced it'll be enough to result in a Championship this season. Thanks to the absence of Avery Bradley in Orlando, Cowherd says the Lakers don't have enough and that it will be hard for them to win this season as a result.

"LeBron's not gonna win the Championship. The only question for LeBron is if he doesn't win it, how much does he blow up this organization and can he get a real star player alongside he and Anthony Davis.

We have a history with LeBron. He's 3-6 in the Finals. When he has the help, he gets the three. When he doesn't have enough help, he gets the six. They're not winning, because they just lost Avery Bradley.

Nobody's winning it by themselves. If they did, LeBron would be 9-0 in the Finals."

According to Cowherd, Anthony Davis, Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Danny Green, and J.R. Smith isn't enough talent for LeBron to win the title.

Obviously that's a pretty controversial take because having Anthony Davis alone gives Bron and the Lakers a huge advantage.

But we will see soon enough if James can prove Colin wrong here. There is some steep competition in the West this year, but the Lakers have been one of the best teams all season long. it just doesn't seem wise to bet against them after so much time off.
