Damian Lillard Once Said He Wanted Paul George On The Trail Blazers

Three years ago, life was very different for Damian Lillard and Paul George. The players are now beefing but there was a time when they were linked with each other. In fact, Lillard himself showed his desire to team up with Paul George at the Moda Center before the Indiana Pacers shipped him to Oklahoma City.

On June 14, 2017, Lillard was asked by a fan which free agent he would like to bring to Portland. Dame replied naming the then Indiana Pacers small forward.

"Paul George / few others," Dame replied.

Lillard must have really wanted with PG, it was the only player he explicitly named; other than that, he only said 'few others'.

That tweet saw the light four days after PG requested a trade from Indiana, who sent him to OKC to team up with Russell Westbrook, another big rival of Dame. It was reported that the Blazers tried to entertain talks with the Pacers but nothing happened in the end.

PG spent two years in Oklahoma City before requesting a trade again after Damian Lillard made a huge shot from almost half-court to eliminate the Thunder in the first round of the 2019 playoffs.

That takes us to yesterday when Lillard remembered he eliminated PG last year and they started beefing, exchanging comments on Instagram, with Dame's sister and George's wife even getting involved in the whole thing. This started as a simple basketball beef but now things have escalated.

Imagine what would have happened if the Blazers team up Lillard, CJ McCollum and PG. Madness. Instead, we have to see their feud now and we're not even mad.
