Damian Lillard has always preached loyalty to the Blazers, but it hasn't done much to quell the rumors that he might want out. Earlier today, whispers surfaced of potential interest in the Knicks and Lakers by Lillard in the event he demanded a trade from his current franchise.
In just a few hours, he fired back to outright deny the notion.
It's true that there is no real backing to the claim. While Portland has seen limited success over the past few years, Lillard might be one of the few loyalists in the entire NBA. He has spoken out against ring chasing and has always made his positive feelings toward the team public.
This season, with Dame, CJ, Melo, and Nurkic, the Blazers hope to reward Lillard's loyalty with a title. Health and offseason moves have made this tenure very challenging for Portland, but we'll see soon enough if they are able to salvage the season.
As for Dame, he's still got plenty of time to win -- but don't expect him to join with other stars to get there. At least, not yet.
