With over half their team set to become free agents this offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers have no clue what their roster will look like at the start of the next campaign. But as Danny Green pointed out in a conversation with Adam Zagoria of Forbes, they already have the pieces they need to compete.

“It’s going to be tough because we have so many free agents, with 10 guys that are free agents,” Green said. “Trying to bring everybody back and reconstruct the contracts, it’s going to be difficult, but when you have the nucleus of LeBron and AD — if they bring back AD — that’s pretty much what you need. You don’t need much else around them.”

LeBron and Anthony Davis combined to average over 51 points for the 2019-20 regular season. Τhe team was 18-1 when Bron and David combined for 60 points, including the playoffs -- which is the 2nd-best record by a duo in NBA history (min.15 games), only surpassed by Shaq and Kobe in 2000.

Despite many obstacles and a roster of largely inconsistent role-players, the star duo was able to bring home the Championship and prove they belong in the conversation with other Laker greats.

No matter what moves the team makes this summer, who is to say the pair can't do the same again next season? As long as their together and healthy, they will always stand a chance.
